In the series of the paper we present the appearance and the results of the dual training in the social higher education.
In the study, we report the establishment of dual education in the field of social science education and its demonstrable results. In addition to the training of professional replacements, the new form of training also plays an important role in the development of the professional identity. At the same time as the acquisition of the work culture already in the theoretical training phase.
The dual training can be considered successful on the university side as well, since a close and long-term cooperation between the higher education institution and the organization/institution acting as a practical location can be realized.
The success of the training and the life path of students and helpers can be realized as a common result, as the increase of the number of students, which becomes extremely important as there is a lack of social workers.
The article reveals that the introduction of dual training, classified as general by the authors publishing on the topic, eliminates the regular mentor training implemented by the university coordination and can also provide an adequate answer to the lack of teacher training. Based on the results of the qualitative research conducted at Gál Ferenc University, the interview excerpts also prove that in the case of selected mentors, the possibility of knowledge transfer and their role in promoting student development can greatly contribute to the reduction of the high risk of professional burnout.
